Nuttall supports the all-important run-up to Christmas
Nuttall is supporting the festive impact of one of Britain’s best-loved high street retailers, as M&S’s Christmas promotions are well underway.
The UK’s foremost specialist in retail displays and interior fit-out has helped M&S redesign their seasonal promotional displays (display tables) and provide a cost-effective, streamlined rollout across the UK – supporting the all-important run-up to Christmas.
Nuttall works with a broad range of retail customers and formats, from high streets and concessions to department stores and retail parks. Unique in its industry, Nuttall offers their end-to-end service, PRISM, which comprises an all in-house ‘Design, Make and Fit’ proposition. This enables customers to achieve a level of control that can’t be achieved anywhere else.
Matt Hornblower, CEO of Nuttall, said: “We’re proud to work with some of the most prominent and well-loved high street brands, developing and delivering innovative, sustainable solutions. This couldn’t better describe our work with M&S this year – they’re a major part of the UK’s festive retail season and we’re delighted to support them.”
Starting point
Last year, Nuttall supplied seasonal displays (display tables) to M&S’s distribution partners that were then deployed across the M&S estate. Utilising an existing design, these display tables were delivered into store locations fully constructed and would remain fully assembled for the duration of their life.
However, when the busy Christmas period was over, these fixed-assembly display units occupied significant storage space when not in use. This year, to provide a more sustainable solution, Nuttall has worked directly with M&S to develop and manufacture a far more functional design.
Display tables – redesign, manufacture and rollout
Nuttall worked closely with the M&S design and equipment procurement teams to develop and create a practical, sustainable display unit – a flat-pack version of the existing table, which would still meet the design specification for weight bearing whilst providing a more sustainable solution. The new design of the units allows for them to be packed down and stored easily in-store.
Nuttall has manufactured M&S’s new display tables at its West Midlands design and manufacturing facility, using UK-sourced materials and FSC-registered timber, which is fully traceable throughout the Nuttall material procurement and production process.
Nuttall has manufactured close to 500 of these new displays and delivered to over 200 store locations within a two-week timeframe to a tightly controlled rollout programme. Delivering direct to store has enabled M&S to make substantial savings in both time and money.
Wayne Rigby, Key Account & Development Manager said: “This is a perfect example of PRISM’s ‘We Design, We Make and We Fit’ proposition in action. We created a far more flexible and versatile display solution whilst realising substantial savings by delivering direct to store. We look forward to supporting M&S in new, innovative ways in the future.”
