Let's talk

It’s tough at the top.

The UK’s leading supermarkets face a unique set of challenges in today’s super-competitive retail space. Creating the right in-store experience at the right price, with minimal disruption to day-to-day trading across entire estates, means retailers have exacting standards when it comes to choosing retail interior partners. Nuttall are a proven force to deliver on design, manufacture, sourcing and installation – our depth of knowledge and breadth of capabilities allow us to state with confidence, that we really are ALL YOU NEED!

You name it, we’ve got it covered.

We have substantial project experience across ‘fresh’ categories including: Produce, Bakery, Flowers and Food-To-Go. We're also experts in delivering specialist ‘non-food’ categories such as Clothing, Health & Beauty, Pharmacy and Home & Leisure.

Test, feedback and refine - as a matter of course.

Our prototyping process recognises the need for speed, without losing sight of cost or quality. We carry out changes in real-time so your teams can pressure-test the concept. We make it right or not at all!

Economies of scale via a global supply network.

For tenders and procurement teams, our blended approach to UK manufacture and global smart-sourcing gives access to real economies of scale. Our UK manufacturing facility offers large volume production, when timelines are critical and global supply isn’t always a viable option.

Installs that run like clockwork.

We understand how trading supermarkets work. We manage large-scale implementations and rollouts across entire retail estates, often to compressed timescales. Handover needs be on time, every time!

Supermarket stories

Morrisons raise more than the bar.

Morrisons wanted to increase stock efficiency and availability. The solution? Over 65,000 extra-height capping shelves – with a combined surface area of 6.5 football pitches, all fitted in 11 weeks across 209 stores nationwide. Great Project Managers and scalable installation teams saw over 100 experienced fitters working every night. We dealt with: bulk heads, special bays, relocating services, lighting and data points, whilst making sure all H&S measures were followed.

Hang loose with your five-a-day.

Limiting packaging is a critical sustainability issue for all supermarkets. Morrisons are leading the way with improved presentation of loose fresh produce. Our design team swung into action as we optimised project value end-to-end. Our joint teams worked on the concept and trialled it in four ‘live’ stores. Due to the scale and volume, we blended UK manufacture and international supply to achieve best cost. The final solution was fully assembled prior to despatch for the fastest in-store installation.

Sushi-to-go, handmade in ASDA.

When ASDA wanted fresh, in-store Sushi concessions to whet the consumer’s appetites for exotic and delicious food-to-go, they chose Nuttall as Principal Contractor to deliver theproject. We created a flexible, bespoke programme of works, supporting the client from cradle to grave. Hoarding H&S requirements were central to the brief – creating an all important safety barrier for the duration of the fit, whilst also getting customers excited about the forthcoming unveiling of the concept.

Serving the very best of British and International brands for over 50 years.

PRISM IN PRACTICE WITH

Sustainability made simple for ASDA.

Design Innovation for sustainable shopping.

We brought ASDA’s ‘zero packaging’ sustainable store concept to life, designing high-impact facings for famous brands, in substrates that ticked all the sustainability boxes.

Our prototypes were built at ASDA HQ for all stakeholders to assess quality, compliance and the all-important ‘wow-factor’ of a ground-breaking store concept.

Going ‘green’ on sourcing and manufacture.

We undertook an exhaustive value-engineered search for materials that could fulfil ASDA’s CSR commitment, create customer impact and stand the test of time.

Incorporating ingenious counter-top manufactured from recycled yoghurt pots, panelling made from old coat hangers, sustainably sourced cotton and forestry commission-approved timber, the materials brief represented genuine innovation for both ASDA and our own team.

Three-month turnaround from idea to install.

From brief to finished scheme, this innovation-led project was completed in just three months. It was extremely well received by the client, ASDA’s customers and the press. Following a Leeds-based pilot, ASDA are now looking at the longer-term implications for roll out.
